 37 Yea, wo unto those that aworship idols, for the devil of all devils delighteth in them.

  16  And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the bgods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

  17  And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a awhoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Lord; but they did not so.

  15  Wherefore the aanger of the Lord was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?

  4  Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another agod: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

  2  Whilst their children remember their aaltars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.

  6  And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the bidols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,

  6  But behold, I trust that ye are not in a state of so much unbelief as were your brethren; I trust that ye are not lifted up in the pride of your hearts; yea, I trust that ye have not set your hearts upon riches and the vain things of the world; yea, I trust that you do not worship aidols, but that ye do worship the true and the living God, and that ye look forward for the remission of your sins, with an everlasting faith, which is to come.

  1  Now it came to pass that after the end of Korihor, Alma having received tidings that the Zoramites were perverting the ways of the Lord, and that Zoram, who was their leader, was leading the hearts of the people to bow down to dumb bidols, his heart again began to sicken because of the iniquity of the people.

  31  And now behold, he had got great hold upon the hearts of the Nephites; yea, insomuch that they had become exceedingly wicked; yea, the more part of them had turned out of the way of righteousness, and did trample under their feet the commandments of God, and did turn unto their own ways, and did build up unto themselves cidols of their gold and their silver.
