4  And he became ^aSatan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies, to deceive and to blind men, and to lead them captive at his will, even as many as would not hearken unto my voice.

  2  Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

  14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

  9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

  18  Or, that a cursing should come upon you for the space of many generations; and ye are visited by sword, and by famine, and are hated, and are led according to the will and captivity of the ^cdevil.

  21  And now Satan began to tremble, and the earth shook; and Moses received strength, and called upon God, saying: In the name of the Only Begotten, ^adepart hence, Satan.

  49  Behold Satan hath come among the children of men, and ^atempteth them to worship him; and men have become carnal, sensual, and devilish, and are shut out from the presence of God.
