21  And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of ^bEgypt.

  22  From this descent sprang all the Egyptians, and thus the blood of the Canaanites was preserved in the land.

  21  And I, Abraham, journeyed, going on still towards the south; and there was a continuation of a famine in the land; and I, Abraham, concluded to go down into Egypt, to sojourn there, for the famine became very grievous.

  9  And Sarah saw the son of ^aHagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

  24  Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is ^bAgar.

  34  God commanded Abraham, and Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham to wife. And why did she do it? Because this was the law; and from Hagar sprang many people. This, therefore, was fulfilling, among other things, the promises.
