1  I, Nephi, having been born of goodly ^cparents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days.

  25  And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon the heads of the parents.

  1  Behold, it came to pass that I, Enos, knowing my father that he was a just man—for he ^ctaught me in his language, and also in the nurture and admonition of the Lord—and blessed be the name of my God for it—

  15  But ye will ^ateach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another.

  32  And now, behold, we have written this record according to our knowledge, in the characters which are called among us the ^areformed Egyptian, being handed down and altered by us, according to our manner of speech.

  5  And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my ^bsons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
