13  And Alma established a church in the land of Sidom, and consecrated ^apriests and teachers in the land, to baptize unto the Lord whosoever were desirous to be baptized.

  20  But behold they were more wise than many of the Nephites; for they took him, and bound him, and carried him before Ammon, who was a high priest over that people.

  2  Turn, all ye Gentiles, from your wicked ways; and repent of your evil doings, of your ^clyings and deceivings, and of your whoredoms, and of your secret abominations, and your idolatries, and of your murders, and your priestcrafts, and your envyings, and your strifes, and from all your wickedness and abominations, and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, that ye may receive a remission of your sins, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, that ye may be numbered with my people who are of the house of Israel.

  9  And thus, in this eighth year of the reign of the judges, there began to be great contentions among the people of the church; yea, there were envyings, and ^cstrife, and malice, and persecutions, and pride, even to exceed the pride of those who did not belong to the church of God.

  20  Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the ^bstrife ceaseth.
