24  And if it so be that they perish, we know that many of our brethren have ^adeserted over unto the Lamanites, and many more will also desert over unto them; wherefore, write somewhat a few things, if thou art spared and I shall perish and not see thee; but I trust that I may see thee soon; for I have sacred records that I would deliver up unto thee.

  30  Nevertheless, thou beholdest that the Gentiles who have gone forth out of captivity, and have been lifted up by the power of God above all other nations, upon the face of the land which is choice above all other lands, which is the land that the Lord God hath covenanted with thy father that his seed should have for the land of their inheritance; wherefore, thou seest that the Lord God will not suffer that the Gentiles will utterly destroy the ^bmixture of thy seed, which are among thy brethren.

  17  And to the ^aNephites, and the Jacobites, and the Josephites, and the Zoramites, through the testimony of their fathers—

  2  For behold, their wars are exceedingly fierce among themselves; and because of their hatred they ^cput to death every Nephite that will not deny the Christ.
