56  And Adam stood up in the midst of the congregation; and, notwithstanding he was bowed down with age, being full of the Holy Ghost, ^apredicted whatsoever should befall his posterity unto the latest generation.

  5  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your ^aeyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

  12  By the power of the Spirit our eyes were opened and our understandings were enlightened, so as to see and understand the things of God—

  24  And we see that death comes upon mankind, yea, the death which has been spoken of by Amulek, which is the temporal death; nevertheless there was a space granted unto ^bman in which he might repent; therefore this life became a probationary state; a time to prepare to meet God; a time to prepare for that endless state which has been spoken of by us, which is after the resurrection of the dead.
